Since the establishment of Hanyang University's Economic Research Institute (HERi) in 1963,
HERi members have devoted significant efforts to promoting research in economics and finance,
as well as supporting international joint research in various ways.
We publish the Journal of Economic Research (JER) and host joint symposiums with
Kobe University (Japan), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Renmin University (China),
and Osaka University of Economics (Japan).
In 2013 and 2014, we hosted the 1st and 2nd International Econometric Society Summer Schools,
where over 80 doctoral students from leading universities around the world had the opportunity to attend
lectures by world-class scholars and engage in discussions with them.
In response to the changing economic environment and evolving research demands, HERi is strengthening its platform
to accommodate new research areas such as environment-ESG and population issues.
HERi aims to establish itself as a central institute for academic research and policy discussion.
